Carla Ritchie
DIRECTOR
Carla Ritchie is the General Manager for VIVO Media Arts Centre, a steward of critical media history and an agent for emergent experimental media arts practices. Carla joined while VIVO was celebrating its 50th year and on the search for a new permanent space. Carla has a long history in the arts scene in Canada, having lived and worked in Regina, Calgary, Toronto, Manitoulin Island and now in Vancouver as a practising theatre artist specializing in lighting, video, and set design and an accomplished arts administrator. During her tenure in Toronto, she was the production manager for Tarragon Theatre and co-ran Artscape Performace and Event Venues. While at Artscape, Carla used her years of management and leadership to transform six event venues throughout the city that were run as social enterprises into some of the top event spaces in Toronto. Carla has also had the privilege of opening two new event spaces in Toronto, bringing that experience to finding VIVO's forever home. Carla also serves on the Independent Media Arts Alliance board and occasionally will tour with Red Sky Performance. She is an MBA candidate at SFU's Beedie School of Business, with a graduation date of December 2025.
